- Promotes its world renowned theme parks - Everland & Lotte World


Mumbai 1st February, 2007 - Billing itself as a multi-faceted destination, Korea Tourism organization is luring the burgeoning Indian market to its world renowned theme parks - Lotte World Amusement Park and Everland Amusement Park.

Speaking on this latest initiative, Mr Kim Il Jung, Deputy Director, Bangkok office, Korea Tourism Organization, said, "The Indian tourism industry is witnessing an unprecedented growth, and the leisure segment is growing at a phenomenal rate. The latest initiative is directed towards tapping that segment. We want to create greater awareness about the multiple options and diversity that Korea offers. We have some of the most fascinating and popular theme parks in the world. So instead of traveling to as far as the US, Korea offers can be a great destination to explore."

Everland theme park is now the fifth most popular theme park in the world, beating Epcot, Disney MGM and Disney's Animal Kingdom and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. So special events are lined up which includes nighttime parades and animal-themed safari tours. Everland sprawls across 3,700 acres and consists of three theme parks: Festival World, Caribbean Bay and the Speedway. Festival World has 40 theme attractions as well as a zoo, plus seasonal festivals (right now the Tulip Festival is going on). Caribbean Bay has both indoor and outdoor water facilities, and Speedway offers racing courses. Also on offer is a heady mix of Korean, Chinese and American cuisine.

While Lotte World is a recreation complex consisting of a large indoor theme park, an outdoor amusement park on an island linked by monorail, shopping malls, a hotel, a Korean folk museum, sports facilities and movie theatres in one area. The theme park is the largest indoor amusement park in the world and ranked seventh worldwide in terms of attendance. It offers rides for everyone in the family, ranging from tranquil tram rides to exhilarating roller coasters. In addition to rides, the park has several shows each day and costume characters that roam around the park entertaining visitors.
